As nature enthusiasts, Jen and I (Doug) were drawn to the area’s enchanting beauty. Twenty-five years ago, Jen discovered this remarkable, overgrown pasture during a mountain bike ride, a hidden gem that ignited our passion. After a decade of perseverance, we acquired this 40-acre haven and transformed it into a retreat we’re thrilled to share. Our goal is to offer fellow nature lovers a chance to disconnect from the digital world, reconnect with the natural environment, and create unforgettable memories amidst million-dollar views atop the Appalachian Mountains.

Raven Rock Mountain offers off grid camping experiences in the Appalachian Mountains of Western North Carolina. Our unique properties, Raven Rock Cliffside Cabin and Skyscraper Treehouse, provide an opportunity to disconnect and immerse in nature. Expect no TV, WiFi, or urban noise, but abundant wildlife, rustling trees, scenic views of valleys and mountains, and stunning night skies.

While amenities are basic, each property includes outdoor cooking gear, fresh spring water, wood stoves, clean portable toilets, limited solar power for small devices, a bed, and furniture. Guests can explore our 40-acre mountaintop, featuring over 10 acres of pasture for walking, hiking, or running.

For those seeking nearby conveniences, restaurants, breweries, wineries, shops, and activities are a short 10-20 minute drive to Fletcher, Arden, Asheville, Lake Lure, Chimney Rock, and Hendersonville. Respect for nature is paramount at Raven Rock Mountain. As home to various wild animals, including bears, we ask guests to observe them from a distance and refrain from leaving food outside to ensure their safety and ours.
